Colback Gold was developed in close technical partnership with global flooring manufacturer Tarkett

In its ambition to contribute to a more sustainable world, Low & Bonar has developed Colback Gold. The new commercial carpet tile delivers the same properties as Low & Bonar’s world-leading Colback Proflooring product, allowing manufacturers to produce carpets satisfying the most stringent Cradle-to-Cradle requirements. The newly launched product is the culmination of two years of technical cooperation between long-term partners Low & Bonar and Tarkett at the manufacturing and R&D facility in Arnhem, Netherlands. Ludwig Cammaert, director Design & Technical Development for carpets at Tarkett comments: “Tarkett’s challenge in this project was to improve the composition of the ingredients of the primary backing, which improves the material health of our carpet tiles. Our partnership with Low & Bonar meant that we were able to work quickly and efficiently from product development to production, safe in the knowledge that Colback Gold would meet Cradle-to-Cradle certification requirements. We can now help customers across our end-markets deliver more sustainable interiors, without compromising on quality.” Gareth Kaminski-Cook, Interiors & Transportation Global Business director, Low & Bonar, says: “The development of Colback Gold demonstrates our capability to tailor specific product properties to meet individual customer or industry requirements, with critical local knowledge across global markets. This project also underlines the strength of our Colback technology to adapt to the changing requirements of our partners.” Colback Gold delivers enhanced tuftability, unmatched stitch holding and unique process behavior.
